Shirley E. Foran

Shirley E. Foran died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on March 7, 2024. She was 95 years old. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of   63 years, Robert A. Foran, and her daughter, Barbara Chapple.

She is survived by her children Bonnie (Bob) Lipowski, MaryBeth (Doug) Roland, Mark (Elizabeth) Foran, Laure (Ron) Czier and Mary Ann Foran and her 12 cherished grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, with one on the way.

Shirley was born in St. Louis, MO, started and raised her family in Cleveland, OH. She retired with her husband to Largo, FL.

She was a stay-at-home mother inspiring her faith in God, her endless curiosity of knowledge, love of reading and artwork to her children.  Shirley was a strong believer in faith and family.  Her family was everything to her. She will be deeply missed by her family and those who were blessed to have known her. May she Rest in Peace.  

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2024.  There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends in the church vestibule from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. The mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Followed by a luncheon.

Mary C. Parsons

Mary C. Parsons (60) passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2024 at Ahuja Medical Hospital located in Beachwood, OH. Per her request, she has been cremated by Blessing Cremation Center with a "Celebration of Life" gathering to come at a later date. She is predeceased by her husband Timothy S. Parsons Sr., her son Timothy S. Parsons Jr., her father Donald Stroh, her mother Mary Ann Stroh, her sister Lois Stroh, and her cousin Helen Murawski. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Abate (Husband: Carlo; Grandchildren: JT and Carina), her sister Susan Walsh (Husband: Steve; Nephew: "Stevie" and Niece: Katie Lazu) and her grandchildren Max and Averie Parsons. 

She was loved very dearly and will be missed by so many, especially her close friends from Drug Mart in Reminderville, OH.

Howard V Wilson

Howard Vencent “Vince” Wilson.

On February 28, 2024, Vince, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at David Simpson Hospice House in Euclid, Ohio. Vince was 75 years old. Born on August 31, 1948, in Camden-on-Gauley, West Virginia, Vince was the third child, and first son of Wardell and Mildred (McMillion) Wilson. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains which shaped his character and transformed him into the resilient and spirited man he became. Throughout his life, Vince pursued his passion for motorcycles and delighted in sharing tales of his adventures and experiences, particularly those from his time growing up. He enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Later in life, Vince was a machinist by trade and worked at Kennametal for over twenty years. Vince was preceded in death by his sisters Carol (Wilson) Cutlip and Freda (Wilson) McCord, brother-in-law Lonnie McCord, and daughter Nicole (Wilson) Gonalez. He is survived by three of his children, Melissa (George) Burke, Vincent Wilson (Karen Mize), and Anthony Wilson (Tiffany Lastoria), and brother Ray Allen (Nancy) Wilson. Beyond his role as a father, Vince found immense joy in being a grandfather to his five grandchildren, Vivianna, George, Eris, Camden, and Hunter. He adored each one dearly, showering them with love, laughter, and cherished memories. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed. Vince's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He touched the lives of his family and friends with his kindness, generosity, and indomitable spirit, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire long after his passing.

A celebration of life will be held on August 31, 2024, to honor his 76th birthday.

Judy Deitke (nee Callahan)

Judy (Callahan) Deitke, 75, of  Mentor,Ohio,  passed away late in the evening on March 11th, 2024 while surrounded by her family. 

She was a proud mother to Christine ( Michael), Amy (Paul), and David (deceased). A loving wife to William ( deceased) . A cherished daughter to William & Georgia Callahan (both deceased) . A beloved older sister to Jerry (Penny), Bill ( Luann), Chuck ( Pam), and Pete ( Debbie). Judy was most proud of her role as “Nana” to Ashley (Joe), Lynsey (Kevin), Alexa (Daniel), Gabrielle ( Sean), Billy ( Kenzie) , Eleanor, & Guinevere.

Judy retired from Johnsonite in Middlefield , OH in 2011 after 30 years as a supervisor. While working there she made many lifelong friendships. 

While living in Jefferson, she also volunteered regularly at the senior center. She helped to plan events & activities, went on field trips, and helped design & build floats for the annual christmas parade. Her dedication even earned her the Ashtabula County  “Senior of the Year” award in 2017.

Judy was an avid crafter her whole life. She loved making gifts, helping with school projects for her grandkids, and making items to sell at craft shows. She also loved movies, especially period pieces & anything with lots of action.One or more  of the family dogs was usually found on her lap or by her side during her cinematic adventures.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. 

Joyce A. Carter

Joyce Ann Carter, 73, a long-time resident of Cleveland, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2024, with family by her side.

Joyce was born to Eugene and Mary Wickline in Greenbrier County, West Virginia on August 7th, 1950.

In her early years, she started a family and raised her two sons in New Jersey. She often reminisced about having a house full of their friends. You could tell in her voice she loved being a mother.

Joyce was a natural caregiver through and through and enjoyed careers that involved helping others. She has touched many lives with her unwavering love and patience. Her selflessness and impact will forever be felt by her loved ones. She found so much joy in being with her family, reading (she would joke about always needing large print), playing board games, especially Scrabble, and being outside in the garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Wickline, her husband, Salvatore Vanadia, her siblings, Steve and Bill, and her loving son, Richard Carter.

She is survived by her son, David Carter (Christina), and daughter-in-law Colleen. Her grandkids, Cassie Aalderink, Jamie (Jacob) Klotz, David Carter Jr. (Hannah), Kelley, and Maggie.

Her great-grandkids Kylee and Connor.

Her siblings Lillian, Claude, Teresa, and Jeanie along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She wished that her ashes be spread in West Virginia in a creek behind a local church where many great memories were made in the summers with family.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.     

Wesley Eastman

Ashtabula — Wesley Eastman,97, of Perry, Ohio, died on February 27, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1926, in Ashtabula, Ohio.Wesley, a Navy veteran who served during WWII from 1945 to 1946, was a wise and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather with a wily sense of humor that delighted all who knew him.He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1944 and later from Case Institute of Technology in 1950. Wesley went on to have a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer for True Temper until the late 1980s and then as a Mechanical Drawing Teacher at Joint Vocational School Ashtabula until the 1990s.Wesley is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marion (Lemponen), daughters Ann (David) Kunsch, Ellen Carr, Gail (Donald Pearson) Eastman, son John (Sally) Eastman,daughter Jean (David) Eastman Kalley, sisters JoEllen (Donald,deceased) McMannis, and Mary(Philip) Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Thora (Boyce) Eastman, and sister Judith (Blaine) Fleming.Cremation at Blessings of Mentor.A Celebration of Life service will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lake Erie Foundation or Hospice of Western Reserve Cleveland.

Donna J. Callgahan

Donna J. Callaghan, age 67, of Concord Township, passed away the evening of Friday February 23, 2024 at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland.  She was born on January 20, 1957, in Cleveland to Louis and Ann (nee Detillio) Parrottino, who preceded her in death.  Beloved wife of Kevin; sister of Mary Ann Brey and Patricia Sudik (deceased); devoted aunt of Mark (Pam) Brey and Eric (Nicole) Brey; great-aunt of Karen, Jon, Michael, Andrew, Anthony, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Natalie; great-great-aunt of Nevaeh; cousin and cherished friend of many.  Friends may call at the Church of St. John Vianney, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor, on Friday, March 15, from 9 to 9:30 AM, directly followed by Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM.

Phillip John Sikora

Phillip John Sikora, 74, of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Phillip (Phil) was born on September 2, 1949 in Clarksville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna Mae Sikora. In 1998, Phil retired from the Ford Plant in Lorain after over 30 years. He also enjoyed post retirement part time work at Village Market in Wellington for 10 years. Phil was a member of Christ Church of Elyria and enjoyed car shows and playing cards.  He immensely loved his grandchildren and time with family. This brought him his greatest joy! Phil is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Cheryl, children; Tammy Sikora of Elyria, Rose (Chuck) Vinci of Carlisle Township, Janet (Patrick) Stokes of Avon Lake, Stephanie (Bobby) Carnie of Avon, and Kristine Andrews of Amherst, and 11 grandchildren; Sierra, Donny, London, Tristin, Heath, Bodhi, Sylas, Britton, Bexton, Casey and Helen. He is survived by 1 sibling Rose Sines. Phil was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Andrews and brothers; Billy, Joe, Jerry, Emil and Michael Sikora and two granddaughters Savannah and Glory.

Robert "Bob" Sheard

Robert “Bob” G. Sheard passed away at home Saturday February 24, 2024.  Cherished Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend he will be dearly missed by all lucky enough to have known him.  A proud veteran he served his country in the Vietnam conflict and was deeply patriotic.  Bob was an adventurous soul who loved to try new things and go new places, especially when those could be shared with good friends and family.  Nothing made him happier than sitting around with those he called friends and sharing stories and laughter. 

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on March 11, 2024 at the Springbrook Gardenhouse located at the Springbrook Gardens Park on 6776 Heisley Rd, Mentor, OH  44060 where the family will receive friends and family.  The service will begin at 4pm.

Edward Thomas Marcel

Edward Thomas (94) of Painesville, OH passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was the beloved husband of Judith and the devoted father of Lisa Burrage, Amy Brunsen (Bill), Anne De May (Rich), Ruthanne Bell, Thomas, and Michael (Tracey) Marcel.  He was cherished grandfather to Tom Serger, Alexandra Burrage, Gabrielle Burrage, Isabella Burrage (Rachel), Adam Brunsen (Sarah), Carolyn Brunsen (Grace), Sophia Marcel, Jordan and Lauren Bell.

He was great grandfather to Taylor Bergoch, Danika Serger and Gianna Serger.

Dear brother of Linda Lucas (Ed) and Arlene Borger and uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Delores Martin and his parents, Edward and Katherine Marcel. 

Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Tom moved to Painesville as a young teenager with his parents and siblings.  After graduating from Harvey High School, he went on to earn a degree in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.  After starting his own company, E Thomas Marcel Architects, Tom went on to enjoy a successful career that spanned over 50 years.  Throughout his esteemed career, Tom was always recognized for the highest standards, talent, and creativity he brought to every project.  Tom’s legacy can be seen in the many buildings and design projects he was associated with in and around Lake County.   

Tom served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He had been a past member of the Mentor Rotary Club, the Elks Club, and the Lake County Historical Society where he also served a term as president.

Tom embodied intelligence, kindness, integrity, and wit.  His unconditional love and constant steady guidance, like our memory of him, will endure and embrace us always.  He was so loved and will be missed dearly.

A memorial service is planned for March 9th, 11:00am at the Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Chapel in Chesterland, Ohio.

Marianne Bordonaro (nee Engoglia)

Marianne Bordonaro (nee Engoglia), 71, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on February 18, 2024. She was born on February 26, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Marianne was known for her wonderful sense of humor and loving nature. She also was an avid lover of music, especially soft rock and Motown. She will be deeply missed by her son Dave Perrier (Susan), beloved grandchildren Zoe and Zach, her brother Mark Engoglia, Nephews John Engoglia (Tina), Matt Engoglia(Rachael), niece Tara Catalano (Robertto), sister in law Barbara Engoglia, extended family, and many friends.  

Marianne is now reunited in heaven with her husband Chuck Bordonaro, her Father & Mother John & Eleanor Engoglia, and her brother John Engoglia. 

A Celebration of Life will be planned for friends and family at a future date to honor and remember Marianne's life and the joy & laughter she brought to those around her.

Margaret A. McClain "Arlene"

Margaret A. McClain “Arlene” age 82, of Chardon, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024 at Mapleview Country Villa, leaving her earthly home for her eternal, home in heaven with her lord and savior. Margaret was born to Fred and betty Molin, in Youngstown, OH. She graduated from McDonald. High School in 1959, and Kent State University in 1963. She married Jim her high school sweetheart November 23, 1963. Arlene went on to teach Home Ec. In the Willoughby Eastlake School System North High School for 30 years. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, especially antique and estate jewelry. She could answer almost any question concerning gems or jewelry. Arlene was a private person, quiet by nature, and happiest at home with a good book. She was a founding member of Willo-Hill Baptist Church, and later a member of Calvary Fellowship Baptists Church where she was a prayer warrior.

Loving husband of 60 years to Jim. Devoted mother of Michael (Carolyn) of Mentor, Sister Trish (Ray) Rutushin of McDonald, OH. Sister-in-law of David and Janet McClain of Xenia, and Robert and Sheryl McClain of Poland. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Paul. Her special Best Friends include Robin Reeder and Shelia Hamrick. A special thank you residence of Chardon Staff, for their loving kindness during Arlene’s stay. Ann M. Malcolm Aldridge "Ree Ree" (nee Tischler) passed away on February 13, 2024. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Teddy R. Malcolm. Loving wife of 34 years to Theodore. Cherished mother of Mary A. Mitchell (Kevin), Christine L. Panzero-Chismar( Frank W.), John J. Malcolm (Kathleen), Edward R. Malcolm (April), Mitchell E. Aldridge. Preceded in death by her children Teddy R. Malcolm Jr., Donnella M. Malcolm, and grandson Justin Aldridge. Step-mother of Stephanie Aldridge, Randie Ronczka (Al), Theodore R. Aldridge (Chong), Daniel J. Aldridge (Jennifer). Devoted grandmother of 20 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 15.  A private family interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Aubrey Rancel Yeater “Butch”

Butch Yeater from Thompson, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, after a short stay in a nursing facility. Butch Yeater was born in Geneva, Ohio, and is the son of Benjamin & Goldie Yeater. Butch is survived by his girlfriend Eleanor Fischbach of 24 years, and his dog (Rowdy), along with his children: Susan (Robert) Shingler, SC, Rhea (Shirley) Yeater, OH, Janet Beling, SC, Raymond Yeater, OH, Kimberly (Gary) Main, OH, Karen (Mike) Johnson, OH, Laura (Jay) Harris, OH, Tom (Kim) Fischbach, OH.

Sisters: Nellie (Bill) Egelston, OH, Mae Yeater, FL, Patty (Tony), Korpela, OH. Butch had 23 grandchildren, and 25 Great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son Jimmy Yeater, SC, and grandson Jacob Daniel, SC, along with his favorite dog, “Scout,” Brothers: Jesse Yeater, James Yeater, and Denver Yeater. Sisters: Dorothy Piercy, Alice Shaughnessy & Betty Rigby.

He went to school at Thompson High School, Thompson, OH, and after became a Thompson Police Officer, where he spent thirteen years, and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Butch then became a truck driver with Colonial Motor Freight, SC, and spent many years as a volunteer firefighter with St. Johns Fire Department, Johns Island SC. Butch retired from Premier Trucking in 2019. Butch and Eleanor enjoyed traveling, and going to country music festivals, and being home with family.

Susan C. Gorsha

Susan C. Gorsha age 79, of Mentor passed away peacefully on a sunny mild winter day, surrounded by her family on February 7, 2024.  Wife of the late Robert Gorsha.

Devoted mother of Judi McNeely (Tony), and Jaci Miller (Tim), and Justina Gorsha (Ryan). Dearest grandmother of  Tiffany (Justin), Chris, William (Chelsea), Tye, Johnathon, Anthony, Davonte, James, Natalie, Logan. Sister of  Virginia Strasser (Karl), David Harrivel (Ann), Natalie Wilson (Oran deceased), and Elizabeth Andrews (deceased). Susan was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Alice Harrivel. Susan was a loving friend, aunt, and cousin to many.

Susan graduated from Mayfield High School, and she lived in Cleveland, Eastlake and Mentor.  Her sister Elizabeth introduced her to taxes. They spent alot of time talking about taxes at family gatherings. She would also tell silly jokes and stories.

She worked at H & R Block for many years. Then she opened her own business in 1994 Andrew's Business services later known as TAPP. This is how she became known as the "Tax lady" by many. She was greatly loved by her clients, and will be greatly missed by all. There will be no services for Susan.

Robert "Bob" Kline

Robert (Bob) Kline proudly described himself as American-made with Italian roots. He grew up surrounded by his maternal Leone Family in Dover, Ohio, with a childhood full of running around the neighborhood with his cousins, Sunday sauce dinners, and getting called a ‘chooch’ endearingly by his elders.

Bob worked for 40 years as a case manager and school-based counselor. He fell in love with his coworker Tracy (Hedges), who became his wife of 28 years. Together, they raised two brilliant kids, Emma and Tony. Bob adored all of his children, both the ones that he taught and the ones that he raised.

In his free time, Bob loved to explore this nation’s natural beauty. He camped in every state but Alabama and Hawaii over the course of his life. He planned wonderful road trips for his family every summer to different National Parks and was an avid photographer, taking pictures everywhere he went. When not on the road, he was a voracious reader with a head stuffed full of trivia. He could explain to you everything from the rituals in sumo wrestling to the difference between Detroit and New York-style pizza. Above all else, he was someone who had never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. In serious moments you couldn’t make eye contact with him because his impish expression would make you giggle. When we asked Bob what we should say about him after he was gone, he suggested the following: “Say what you want about the guy, but he had a lot of stuff.” His friends all knew him as irreverently funny and ferociously loyal. He was a solid guy.

Bob was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in November of 2022. He embraced his cancer journey with more grace and humor than could be asked of anyone, even arranging in the end to donate his brain to science (as he made the doctors agree, it was too magnificent of a specimen to go to waste). His brain surgeon and medical team noted that he had a thick skull and very stubborn DNA, which was surprising to no one who knew him.

Robert Kline died on February 6, 2024 in his home as his wife promised. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Kline and Mary Kline (Leone), his beautiful sister Martha Carrey (Kline), his favorite cousin Linda Murakami (Marks) and friend Mark Caswell. He is survived by his wife Tracy, children Emma and Anthony, Nephews Matthew Wydick and Joshua Wydick, Nieces Nikki Smith (Judah) and Alisa Bray, Great Niece Josephine Bray and Great Nephew Damion Manning, as well as numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.

There will be a celebration of life for Bob on April 13, 2024 at Alfredo’s at the Inn, located at 780 Beta Drive Mayfield Village, OH 44143 from 1-5pm. Please bring your favorite Bob stories to share at the open mic. While we know there will be tears, he made us promise to fill this event with laughter.

John Joseph Fornadel

John Joseph Fornadel, age 80, of Willowick, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home in the presence of family on February 6, 2024. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was one of three children of the late John, Sr., and Helen (West) Fornadel. John was a graduate of Collinwood High School in Cleveland, class of 1961, after which he attended Kent State University. He married his wife, Carol, in 1964 with whom he enjoyed 59 years of marriage.

John worked as a mechanical engineer. He was athletic in his younger years and was on the high school basketball team and later enjoyed playing golf and softball. He was also very involved as a volunteer with the Willowick and Euclid YMCA swim teams. He always put family first, and especially enjoyed doing things with his grandson. John loved numbers and games of strategy including cards, chess, and backgammon and enjoyed his trips with his wife to Las Vegas.

John is survived by his wife, Carol (Kovalsky); children Julie (Dan) Baker of Mentor, OH, and Brian Fornadel (Scott Monnin) of Columbus, OH; grandson Richard Baker; brother Martin (Karen) Fornadel of Mentor, OH; as well as many more extended family members and friends; he was preceded in death by his sister Reta Jean Fornadel.

A funeral mass will be held on May 18, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick, Ohio from 12-1 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life starting at 2 p.m. at All Aboard bar at 8455 Station St., Mentor, Ohio. The family express thanks to Miracle City Hospice for their care of John. 

William Riley McCauley

William Riley (Bill, Billymack, Red) McCauley, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 5 with his wife, Shirley, and “grand” Kelly by his side.

Bill is survived by his wife, the love of his life and soulmate, Shirley (Slater), for over 66 years. Born and raised in rural Enterprise, West Virginia to Dhring and Lilly Olive (Cunningham) McCauley (both deceased) and was the last survivor of 12 siblings. Bill was lovingly supported by three generations of close family, children of whom he and Shirley affectionately referred to as their “daughter/son”, “grands” and “great-grands”.

Bill received his draft notice while on his honeymoon and served two years repairing tank engines at US Army bases in Germany. He worked for the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools as custodian for 33 years. In 1981, after cancer surgery, he was told he would have only 2 to 2- ½ years to live. Obviously, the “energizer bunny” proved doctors wrong. He was a warrior!

Bill was an avid sports player for 70+ years, playing basketball, volleyball, and hardball weekly, bowled in several bowling leagues, and his love for the past 20 years was playing softball with Solon’s “Babes of 1916.” He grew up playing horseshoes, and was darn good at it, throwing ringer after ringer. Friends and family always wanted to partner up with Bill when playing horseshoes or cornhole, as they knew they would be “the winners.” Bill helped establish South Euclid’s first Ponytail Softball League in the ‘60s.

Bill and Shirley loved travelling by car or going on bus trips. Every year, they travelled by car to San Diego to visit family, taking a different route every year, enjoying the beauty of the USA, especially our National Parks, with Yellowstone being their favorite. They have hiked almost all of our National Parks, visited every State Capitol, loved visiting historic towns and places, and cruised many USA Rivers. Their last trip was in 2019, covering over 10,600 miles in 61 days.
